Contract price increase exposure
A stated uplift is not enough by itself. Before forecasting renewal cost, identify the controlling pricing clause, the trigger, any cap or index, the effective date and amendments that may override the original language.
Evidence to preserve
- Current recurring price and currency.
- Uplift percentage, index or calculation rule.
- Maximum cap and any minimum increase.
- Notice requirements for the change.
- Renewal date or other trigger.
- Controlling amendment and precedence language.
Decision rule
Do not convert a missing cap into zero and do not treat an older clause as controlling when a later amendment changes it. Keep the source language beside any calculated exposure.
